Kerala hosted India’s first Wedding and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) Conclave from August 14 to 16, 2025, at the Grand Hyatt Kochi on Bolgatty Island. The event was organized by Kerala Travel Mart Society in collaboration with the Kerala government and supported by the Ministry of Tourism, aiming to position Kerala as a leading global hub for destination weddings and corporate events. Over 400 buyers and 65 sellers, including wedding planners, luxury resorts, and event organizers, participated in business meetings, networking sessions, and expert seminars on global event trends, marketing strategies, and event technologies. Delegates also toured Kerala’s top wedding and event destinations such as Munnar, Kumarakom, Kovalam, Wayanad, and Bekal, showcasing the state’s beaches, backwaters, hill stations, and cultural heritage.

The conclave marked a significant milestone in Kerala’s event tourism sector, embodying the state government’s vision of making Kerala a premier destination for weddings and MICE tourism. Tourism Minister P. A. Mohamed Riyas and other dignitaries emphasized the state’s natural beauty, cultural richness, and robust hospitality infrastructure as key assets for high-value event tourism. The event also called for comprehensive policy frameworks and the establishment of MICE Promotion Bureaus to further boost the sector. With over 6,600 business meetings conducted, the conclave set a benchmark for future gatherings, strengthening Kerala’s position as a frontrunner in the expanding wedding and MICE tourism market in India and globally.
