Kerala Travel Mart 2022, the eleventh edition of India’s largest destination-specific tourism event, was held from May 5 to 8, 2022, at the Samudrika Convention Centre in Kochi. This edition marked a much-anticipated return to the physical format after the pandemic-induced virtual Mart in 2020. The event drew over 1,500 domestic and international buyers from more than 60 countries, and featured around 325 exhibitors from across Kerala’s diverse tourism sectors. KTM 2022 focused on reviving Kerala’s travel industry by promoting Ayurveda, wellness tourism, monsoon packages, eco-tourism, and offbeat experiences.
A key highlight of KTM 2022 was its strong emphasis on Responsible Tourism and community-driven experiences, reflecting Kerala’s ongoing efforts to rebuild a more inclusive and sustainable tourism model post-COVID. The Mart also introduced new tools for buyer-seller matchmaking and offered extensive familiarization (FAM) trips to lesser-known destinations, encouraging more even distribution of tourism traffic across the state. With enthusiastic participation, renewed international interest, and successful business networking, KTM 2022 marked a confident and optimistic restart for Kerala’s tourism sector on the global stage.
